Posting Template for Royal Mail
Brief
When Royal Mail changed their pricing structure to take account of mail item size they required a tool for customers and staff to use to classify the mail items.
Royal Mail commissioned us to work with their team to develop the posting template which should allow all customers and staff to successfully classify mail items.
Process
We adopted an iterative user-centre approach which included the following stages:
-
Requirements - identify and agree what the posting template needed to achieve
-
Research - review templates used by other postal administrations and within Royal Mail
-
Design development - starting with concept designs through to testing of mock-ups, iterating the design following feedback
-
Prototype testing - in live settings with real users. Included people with access requirements

Outcome
The posting templates developed were successfully rolled out for use in Royal Mail operations, Post Offices and by customers.
The posting template is still in use.
